Actually, that is a good investment. Good euphonium players are hard to find and they are paid exceptionally well!

Well, my younger son, who made it to third chair trumpet in his band, has changed instruments.  He will now be playing the baritone/euphonium.  This is at the suggestion of his band teacher.  He tried out on the baritone, and everyone said that from just that short try-out, he may actually make first chair!  I don't know if I should have done it or not, but I dropped an entire paycheck on a euphonium for him....so he can bring it home and not have to worry about damaging the one that belongs to the school.
